FUNK, DISCO, R&B — 60 YEARS OF GROOVE
On July 17th, the main stage turns into one giant dancefloor: Kool & The Gang is coming to Guitare en Scène for an evening that's already shaping up to be one of the most euphoric of the year.
Etched permanently into the collective memory, the music of Kool & The Gang has crossed decades and got generation after generation on their feet with a simple and irresistible formula: making every concert a celebration for body and soul.
"Celebration," "Get Down On It," "Cherish," "Ladies' Night," "Jungle Boogie," "Fresh" — behind each of these universal hits, an unmistakable signature: blazing brass, deep rolling bass, and a groove that simply won't quit.
And who hasn't heard "Summer Madness" in Rocky, "Open Sesame" in Saturday Night Fever, or "Jungle Boogie" in Pulp Fiction?
Formed in 1964 in New Jersey by the Bell brothers, the band celebrates 62 years in 2026 — and co-founder Robert "Kool" Bell is still on stage, keeping that legacy alive.
Two Grammy Awards (including a Hall of Fame induction for the legendary "Celebration"), 7 Music Awards, 31 gold and platinum albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame… very few acts in history can boast a record like that.
In recent years they have shared the stage with Elton John, Kid Rock, and The Roots, and completed a 50-city tour alongside Van Halen.
Their catalogue ranks among the most sampled in R&B history — Beastie Boys, Jay-Z, Madonna, Janet Jackson, Cypress Hill… all have dipped into their timeless grooves.
Having made the whole world dance, Kool & The Gang is coming to set Guitare en Scène alight with their greatest hits — for the sheer joy of everyone on that dancefloor.
What a privilege to experience this with them: a night nobody will forget.
