DREAM THEATER
In the eye of Guitare en Scène
Within our little theater of mind shadows, in the chaos of our inner turmoils, a few dreams sometime take human shape to ride stunning melodies. It takes then a great deal of talent such as Dream Theater's to, with slightly poetic progressive metal deployment, lead us to those extraordinary zones in which words are but of few importance facing a virtuoso and hypnotic music within which each can choose the emotion he fancies.
BIOGRAPHIE
Within our little theater of dream shadows, from now and then, heady melodies made of throbbing flamboyant notes, devastating shockwaves and swift meteoric rise loudly resonate. Straight out from the imaginary world of skilful puppeteers, masters in the art of creating images with words, sounds, dreams, their music playing with our internal turmoils, jumping on the bandwagon of our thoughts to propel us, between black clouds and silvery depth, in a stunning and fascinating chaos. For almost thirty years now, these manipulating kings of us awaken puppets are better known by the name of Dream Theater, gifted alchemists, craftsmen of a slightly poetic progressive metal music, sometimes wandering on lands where words are of no importance facing the evocative power of bare notes, an hypnotic and virtuosic music in which each of us can find his own emotions.
For three decades and forteen studio albums now– the last one « Distance Over Time » released February 22nd, 2019 - John Petrucci (guitars), John Myung (bass), James LaBrie (singer), Jordan Rudess (keyboard) and Mike Mangini (drums) have been exploring the dark side of our internal planets, taking us to dense universes, sometimes experimental, in which each music instrument is let free to join a coherent hole, giving birth to peculiar emotions and unique sensations. Constantly adventuring in new territories, from concept albums to rock operas, these titans of rock music keep clearing a new path with each LPs, creating an epic with each song and an out of the world instant with each concert, between lyricism and power, virtuosity and originality. Therefore, when the greatest progressive metal band of all times will take hold of the stage at Guitare en Scène next July, there is no doubt that thrills, curses and hexes will take over the place !
